What causes Anxiety Attacks
The person suffering from panic attacks
may experience any of the most common symptoms of attack, such as the feeling of intense fear
and apprehension, heart palpitations, shortness of breath, sweating, trembling, and a parade
of other symptoms. There is, however, no definite answer as yet to what causes anxiety
attacks and panic attacks, which is also known as an intense anxiety. There are, nonetheless,
two things which are contributory to panic attacks, that is, the biological and environmental
causes.
In fact, many experts in the field of
psychology have zeroed in on genetics in their efforts to find what causes anxiety attacks in
many people. Just as hair and eye color can be inherited from one or both parents, a panic
disorder have long been seen to have also run in families. Aside from it, one theory reveals
that there are people who are really prone to panic attacks, still for unknown reasons. On
the other hand, there are attack sufferers have long been proven to have a family member who
also suffered from panic attacks or have suffered from emotional disorder or depression in
the past.
There is also a possibility that panic
attacks are caused by abnormalities in the human brain. In fact, it may happen that a panic
disorder can be the cause of certain changes in the function of the human brain. Studies have
also revealed that panic attacks have been closely associated with psychotic disorders like
schizophrenia or post-traumatic disorder. There is also a slight possibility that psychotic
symptoms may lead to panic attacks. Aside from this, psychotic attacks have also been proven
to precede an anxiety disorder and post traumatic disorder. In fact, research suggests that
the human body’s natural fight-or-flight response to danger has also been associated with
panic attacks. The human body’s alarm system is a group of mental and physical mechanisms
that make a person respond to various threats characterized by accelerated heart rate and an
increased breathing pattern. When a person suffers from a panic attack various feelings are
triggered even if there is no danger. Today it remains unknown why a person suffers from a
panic attack.
For some people, a major stress in life
may also be the cause of a panic attack. Stress comes in many different forms, such as a
major transition in the life of a person, like a death of a loved one or even a separation
from a loved one. In other research it shows that stress can significantly lower a person’s
resistance, which is another possibility of panic attack occurrence.
Finally, the so-called environmental
causes of panic attacks have also been seen in people who are into substance abuse or
addiction. In fact, the person’s intoxication or even his withdrawal from drugs or alcohol
can actually contribute to panic disorder or depressed disorder. Moreover, it is also
possible that both the biological and environmental causes are responsible in triggering
panic attacks. In fact, a person may normally suffer from panic attacks even without apparent
causes, like for example, a person who is suffering from panic disorder may experience
accelerated heartbeat as a result of medication, and it may be interpreted as a symptom of
panic attacks. In fact, many people are suffering from panic attack mainly because of too
much anxiety. The fact being that they worry a lot about the possibility of having
panic attacks in the future so you need to know what causes anxiety. As of today, the
real cause of panic attacks remains unclear and unknown, and so it is always recommended to
seek professional help in the form of therapy.
